BREAK UP YOUR FALLOW GROUND Jeremiah 4:3, “Break up your fallow ground, And do not sow among thorns." Just like farmers have to prepare the ground to bear fruit, we must prepare ourselves to receive from God this year. We must be ready for greater glory. The expression, “Break up your fallow ground" means, to prepare your minds to bring forth fruit unto God. To break off your bad habits; clear junks from your hearts, work on your attitude, take away hatred, bitterness, lust, and greed. These are thorns that has been chocking your seeds, preventing them from germinating, and growing to maturity to producing fruits. In our passage, Jeremiah makes the people to understand that if they do not "Break up their fallow ground They will be sowing among thorns." In other words, they will sow seed, but because they didn't bother to prepare the soil and pull out the thorns, the seed will have little or no effect. You can't keep being the s...

COME UP HITHER And they heard a great voice from heaven saying unto them, Come up hither. And they ascended up to heaven in a cloud; and their enemies beheld them. Revelation 11:12 KJV The call of the Spirit of God is always to a Higher Place, to see more, to know more, to receive more and to be more in God. The Christian Life by design is one of ever increasing glory ..... No glory is ever enough, we are to Go Up Hither for more glory because it is always from one level of glory unto another. 2Corintians 3:18 says, But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord. Similarly, in Proverbs 4:18 we are told, But the path of the just is as the shining light, that shineth more and more unto the perfect day . There is always more and more and more for us to grasp in Christ but for us to get them, we must Go Up Hither. It is in the place of Going Up Hither ...

FROM BITTER TO SWEET When they came to the oasis of Marah, the water was too bitter to drink. So they called the place Marah (which means "bitter"). Ex. 15:23 The Israelites having journeyed for days without water in the wilderness was exhausted. The entire area is a wilderness and no water. Suddenly there is hope, they see water before them. On sight of the river, after three days of thirst, they heaped a sigh of relief. At last there is water before them... Oh how joyous they must have been to find a relief.... But wait a second, their joy quickly turned sour, the blessing of the water was not what they expected, it is a bitter water. The only water they could see turned to be “bitter”. Their joy turned to sorrow, their soul was in pains, "how could God do this to them", they must have thought. They all complained and murmured as a result of the bitter water. This showed that their hopes were dashed. They would need to walk another distan...

GOD KNOWS Elizabeth Iyadi Abaye “And the LORD said, I have surely seen the affliction of my people which are in Egypt, and have heard their cry by reason of their taskmasters; for I know their sorrows.” Exodus 3:7* Most times when people are faced with situations they wonder if God is aware of what they are going through or if He does care or if He is hearing all their cries and prayers? Some even go as far as wondering if God is really there? Today we can see the Lord who comforted and helped His people of old in all their affliction informing us that He is seeing all that we are going through, He is hearing our cries, He knows all our sorrows and pains and certainly, He will take care of things for us. Beloved, in all the challenges you are going through, be rest assured that _God Sees, God Knows, and he Hears your groans_ and he will fix them for you. He will do something about them all as you continue to call upon Him for it is written, * “When the rig...

THE PROMISE'S OF GOD Paul in 2 Corinthians 1:20 says the promises of God are Yea and Amen. “YEA” means “YES”. The promises of God are not “YES” today then tomorrow “NO”. Neither are they “Maybe”. The promises of God are “YES!” nothing short of YES. Will God give you your heart desires? “YES He will!” Will He heal you? “YES He will!” Will He save and deliver you from that situation? “YES he will!” and if God says YES no man nor powers can say NO. Because God’s promises are YES and AMEN, therefore He does not say NO to any prayer that is prayed in His will. Wherefore, John declared, “And this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask any thing according to His will, He hears us” 1John 5:14. Jesus in Revelation 3:14 said that He is the Amen, the faithful and true witness. If Jesus is the Amen It then means your case is settled already for Amen means “So be it.” It also means “It’s already done.” Therefore what God has spoken concerning you is a...

THE SNARE IS BROKEN . Elizabeth Abaye "Our soul escaped as a bird out of a snare of fowlers: the snare is broken, and we are escaped.” (Psalm 124:7) They are so many issues in people's life, so many situations that are messing with our minds, our character and messing with our relationship with our Lord. Some are dealing with financial issues, some health issues, some physical issues and some moral issues. But thanks be to God who through the sacrifice of His Son Jesus has broken the snare of the wicked and our soul is escaped from their prey. Now our struggles over battles of life are over, for we are "Far above principalities and powers". Child of God, note that the text did not say, “We hope that we will escape, and we trust that the snare will be broken”; but it rightly says, “The snare is broken, and we are escaped.” David in this passage was declaring as a prophet, he was speaking of what Christ was to do for the freedom of the sou...
