CHOSEN BY GRACE
Paul in 1 Corinthians
15:10 says, “But
by the grace of God I am what I am: and his grace which was bestowed upon me
was not in vain; but I laboured more abundantly than they all: yet not I, but
the grace of God which was with me.” (KJV).
Sometimes we tend to
think that we get through in life by our own power or self-righteousness but I
have come to understand that we are nothing outside the grace of God. No matter
how educated you are if grace does not work with you, your education is
meaningless, it will take you nowhere.
Oh it is good to be righteous
for that is who we are in Christ: nevertheless, you don’t depend on your
righteousness but upon the Spirit of grace who administers grace upon grace on
us. And no matter how gifted and talented you are, if you are not endowed with
grace, your efforts will be worthless and unproductive. for “Except the Lord
build the house, they labour in vain that build it: except the Lord keep the
city, the watchman waketh but in vain. (Ps 127:1 KJV).
Now let’s understand what
grace is?
Grace has always been
classified as unmerited favor but He is beyond unmerited favor. Unmerited favor
is what comes through grace to us when He is resting and dwelling in us; in consequence;
GRACE is the glory of God imparted to the believer that differentiates him from
the world. It's an endowment, an empowerment, an enablement that helps us
achieve what we have been predestined for.
Today I want you to know
that you are chosen by grace, you may not be what someone want but when God’s
grace chooses you, people have no option than to accept you.
You may not be qualified
for that job but you are getting it anyway, because grace qualifies you. You
may not be educated enough, nor qualified for some certain levels or that
appointment but hear me child of God, you are chosen by grace therefore power
of grace will appoint.
You may not seem good
enough before people but because grace qualifies you, they have no option than
to accept you. The scripture says you are accepted in the beloved
(Christ),
Therefore, if Christ has
made you accepted in him, who is that man or woman that will reject you. Oh
maybe they said you are not beautiful enough, not rich enough, to be associated
with, but today I bring you good news, Grace has found you and chosen you, you
are beautified by the clothing of grace and you are associating with the king
of glory who makes kings, nobles, leaders to associate with you.
PETER
In Luke 5; the scripture
told us about Peter and his fellow fishermen have a very difficult night in one
of their outing to catch fishes. but after the Lord told him to “launch out
into the deep, and let down your nets for a draught” and he did as told, “they
enclosed a great multitude of fishes:” to the point that they had to beckon
unto their partners, which were in the other ship, that they should come and
help them. And they came, and filled both the ships, so that they began to
sink” but was this done for them because they were the most righteous nor the
most qualified? The answer is no. they encountered grace; it was all because of
God’s grace as we see what Peter says next in verse 8 “When
Simon Peter saw it, he fell down at Jesus' knees, saying, depart from me; for I
am a sinful man, O Lord.”
He said he was a sinful man thus ought not to have gotten such favour from the Lord. But this is what God’s grace does for us, He qualifies the unqualified, he upgrades the low and takes them from nothing to greatness. He gives strength to the weak, He positions one who is seen as a nobody and give them high place in the society. you are chosen by grace.
Grace chose Peter among many other Fisher men on the sea on that fateful day and turn his misery into a miracle. Indeed when grace chooses you he turns your life around for the best, he does not leave you the same but makes you a better person.
Thanks be to God
