TRUE FAITH

TRUE FAITH

“For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that overcomes the world – our faith.” (1 John 5:4)

“Jesus said to him, If you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes.” (Mark 9:23)

It is important we understand What faith is all about before we go further in this teaching. So then, what is faith?

The dictionary defines faith as “belief in, devotion to, or trust in somebody or something, especially without logical proof.” It also defines faith as “belief in and devotion to God.” The Bible has much more to say about faith and how important it is. Faith is to believe and to think, talk and act on what you believed

When you do that then what you believed will  become a material reality. Simply put, the biblical definition of faith is “trusting in something you cannot explicitly prove.”

This definition of faith contains two aspects: intellectual assent and trust. Intellectual assent is believing something to be true. Trust is actually relying on the fact that the something is true.

Understanding these two aspects of faith is crucial. Many people believe certain facts about Jesus Christ. Many people will intellectually agree with the facts the Bible declares about Jesus. But knowing those facts to be true is not what the Bible means by “faith.” The biblical definition of faith requires intellectual assent to the facts and trust in the facts.

Faith receives what God’s grace provides us.. God’s grace includes all that Jesus provided humanity through His sacrifice at Calvary.

Grace is God’s hand extended towards us, holding in everything we need that pertains to our natural and spiritual lives. And faith is our hand extended to receive from God!

Faith is not for what you have, can see, and feel, but is for what God promised you that you still can’t see or feel.

Faith is the guarantee, the title deed for the miraculous, the deliverance, the healing, or the answered to your request, until it actually comes to pass

Faith makes you to rejoice in hope.  For this reason, when you walk by faith, you can be full of joy, even while it seems that nothing is working out and nothing has changed. You’re full of joy because you’re not looking to the manifestation of future; you’re looking at it right now in the light of what God has promised.

A true faith is to believe what the Bible says, and we are to obey it. We are to believe the promises of God, and we are to live accordingly. We are to agree with the truth of God’s Word, and we are to allow ourselves to be transformed by it (Romans 12:2 ).

In order word, faith is to agree with what God says and live or act accordingly even when there is no possibility of achieving or seeing the reality of those things. This is why it is by faith because God will now through your faith do the impossible
